how much should i get paid as a entry level commercial construction estimator/ project manager.?
Asked by alicia i
i have been offered a job as estimator for a 15 million dollar a year general contractor ( commercial construction) my education level is only some technical college classes for this type of work, i have no degree just took classes on what i thought i needed. i have hands on experience with this type off work because i own my landscaping company, so i know alot about how estimating works, of course this is a lot different but im not in the dark on estimating. i also worked in construction for 3 years. so i have some hands on experience as well in the field of construction. now for my question, they are hiring me as a estimator and with in a few months there wanting me to actually be the project manager of the jobs i get through my estimating. so with in a few months i will be a estimator / project manager. what would be a fair starting salary for this type of job with my experience which is not alot, they offered me 30k to start, how much could i make in say 2 years will it go up alot.

Salary depends a lot on where you live. You can use http://www.salary.com and enter your job, location and level and then get an idea. The numbers in salary.com are usually a bit high, but still in the ballpark.
