What does a front desk coordinator for a pet hospital actually do?
Asked by Megg
I'm looking at jobs and found this one. Just wondering exactly what the job entails before I apply. I don't want to waste my time or theirs if it's something that I wouldn't be interested in.

I am a vet tech & I also do some of the reception work at the clinic. Your job would involve answering the phones, making appointments, making sure all of the files are ready for appointments & meet the legal standards. You would be responsible for accounts receivable. You are the person who deals with billing clients after appointments & often have to listen to some pretty awful things on a daily basis such as "I can't afford to fix his broken leg so i'm just going to leave it", you have to have people sign forms to euthanize their loving pet for 12 years + while they are crying at the desk. If you can handle it and take the good and the bad it is a great job and always changing, no day is ever the same that is for sure!!

I would imagine a little bit of everything- perhaps like a receptionist but more involved. Making appointments, answering phones, accounts receivable (when customers pay), maybe even minimal involvement with insurance. Where are you located? I'd love to work in an animal hosptial!
