is it true you have to apprectice 4 years before becomming a welder?

say i went to job corps and graduated welding as my trade..would i still have to apprentice for 4 years?

NO.....there are people who come right out of trade schools and perform their welding tests with companies and start welding all the time....although some people probrably should apprentice for 4 years...lol
I am a CWI....Certified Welding Inspector from AWS....the American Welding Society...

well i think that fair you can't sign up and become "super welding man " all i know is that at around 3 years or so they'll start asking you to start a masterpeice which'll get u a journeyman status then andother masterpeice will get u master . and also never look into an arc welding light
