Would getting a LVN certificate speed the process to become an RN?
Asked by Claudia C
I am finding it difficult and lenghty to get into an RN school. From pre-reqs to waiting list it just feels like I am never going to get in and I was wondering if getting an LVN certificate can speed up the process to get a BSN at all?

Not always. In many areas the LVN to RN programs are just as competative for entry as the traditional RN programs. You're right, it can be a lengthy process. But if you're dedicated to becoming an RN, it will definitely be worth the wait. Try applying to every program in your area - don't put all your eggs in one basket, so to speak. You might get in faster that way. Good luck!
