whats the best type of resume to use if I'm looking to be a pharm sales rep?
Asked by Tink
Functional? chronological? educational? I just got out of school with my masters of science - I dont have any B2B experience, but I have been a manager/buyer/purchasing consultant for about 15 years and would like to give it a shot... Any suggestions?

I would go chronological -- I think functional sends a red flag that you are covering up a shortcoming (i.e. you are creating a self fulfilling prophesy). Sellingpower.com publishes a list of sales companies with great training programs. Salesguy.org publishes a list of the most sought after sales traits and experience. The key when you have no experience is to interview well and follow up with the hiring manager regularly after the interview. Eventually you'll find someone willing to give you a shot.

Experience vs education and in your case your education is more important due to the fact you have no B2B experience. I would make it educational that is most likely what HR will notice in your case. Make sure your objective is great and sales oriented! Also, a killer cover letter would help as well!
