If it's an internal job interview, then you have an advantage. You can research both the company and the interviewer from an inside perspective. Try to find out the interview style of the interviewer so you can prepare. Be prepared to talk about what you've done in your current role, what your impressions of the company are, and why you want to make a change. Practice, practice, practice with a friend or in front of a mirror, it definitely helps your performance. General tips: -- If you're nervous and tend to talk a lot, don't do that. Smile and give a one or two sentence answer to questions to control your talking. If you don't talk enough, then promise yourself that you'll answer every question with at least 2 sentences, and stick to it. -- Go prepared with a question or two. Usually you get asked if you have any questions, and you want to be able to answer intelligently. -- Receptionists have core skill sets -- customer service, multi-tasking, etc. Be prepared to discuss why you are the best candidate for these skills. Good luck!!
