What is sales and purchase? What is done in Sales in a company? What are the requirements for sales. I need help to build an automated sales system in Java. Any help would be appreciated. If u know any thing about sales in business or insoftware, please help. You can check my list if questions pete and also how many times I have asked the same question in different ways. But when the question is vague people tend to give some views atlest but when I had asked in detail I hardly got any response. Even ur response is vagues. Being in sales for 20years u cud give some ideas watevr u understood by my question. People answer like u only "I know but........................" ???????? :)

What is Sales? Selling function in a company is about offering your product and services to your prospective clients/ customers/ consumers. What is done in Sales? There is a Sales team in every company that markets any product or services. However it depends what you are selling, to whom you are selling: Direct Selling - Is used for door-to-door promotion & selling of your products. There is Office Drive, Home Drive, & Public Places Drive in Direct Selling. Personal Selling - A sales team equipped with technical information about the product meets clients / customers at their offices to consider their products & proposals. Telemarketing - Sales team approaches consumers/ clients/ customers through telephone and selling them serives or products. Online e-marketing - Product offers are made through your web site, banner Ads at other popular web sites, e-mail shots to the e-mail account holders. Channel marketing - A team approaches different channels of market, like shops, stores, shopping malls, departmental stores to consider their product to be placed on shelves. Now, the requirements of sales: You have to have an offer (product / service), tangible or intangible, a price. And you have to have a target market that is your prospective buyer for the same. Now building up a Sales System is about Sales Management where you have to keep track of sales persons' activites... there are certain standard ways of managing sales activities in a company... but there are difference of practices in everyother company, in order to gain a competitive edge. Suggestion: You should contact a marketing company and tell them that you want to volentire to automate their selling system. If they agree, they divulge all the bits n' pieces of their activities. Well, it's a bit like asking what happens in hospitals becuase I'm writing a piece of software to help doctors.... sales might sound like a limited subject but as someone that's working in sales for 20 years I can tell you it's a huge area. Where to begin? Whats done is sales? Essentially it's the function whose role it is to go out and sell an organisations products or services - put simply. If you need specific details about part of the sales function then you might want to try and elborate a little more in your question - try asking a very clear and specific question. Right now you are asking the equivalent of 'what happens in medical care'? No one can answer something that vague to any decent degree. Good luck ni your quest.
