I can not tell you if it is enjoyable.. that is a function of you, and the tasks you take on.. but stable.. Surveying has been around almost as long as man divided up the land. So its likely to be here a tad longer. As far as rewarding (financially), here in California there are only about 4,000 professional surveyors (you must be licensed by the state like a doctor or lawyer) so there is typically a high demand for the work. A private surveyor can earn up to $200 or so per hour for some tasks, and working for someone else (with perks not included) can bring in about $80 per hour or so. But.. that doesnt nec. make it a job for you... Remember that enjoying your work makes the difference between a job and a career... good luck.. .

A Land Surveyor will enjoy the freedom his/her job allows. He/she will be stable if they are.
