What is part time security officer work like?

I am a criminal justice major and considering becoming a police officer after I graduate w/ my bachelor's. I am halfway through college and I need a new, better paying job (right now I'm a cashier). Do you think a security agency would hire me? And for anyone who has done this kind of job, what kind of hours are required for part time employees? I have a pretty open schedule during the summer and during the fall semester, but I am going to be taking 18 credit hours this fall. Would it be too many hours?

Hello. I think that a security company might hire you. It does seem like 18 units is a heavy load to take while working, but it can be done. I took 18 units and worked through college - but don't expect any free time or much sleep.
