can i put my counselor at school and a coordinator in a volunteer program in YWCA as my reference?

i'm going to apply for a job in Gap and Peet's coffee. when i fill out the application, can i put my counselor in a writing success project at college and a coordinator in a volunteer program in YWCA as my reference because i don't have many work experience before? is it ok to put no one on my reference list?

Definitely put them. And they would probably feel honored. Not putting anyone is a BIG MISTAKE.

Yes you should put both of them. Be sure to let them know that you're using them as a reference...so they won't be taken by surprise when someone calls to ask about you.
