Im planning to take the Microsoft Certified Desktop Support Technician, i was wondering if anyone out there has done it and was worth doing it. Thank you Im thinking of joining this company to do this course http://www.joskos.co.uk/new/index.asp#inquiry they say it takes 8 months to 2 years to complete depending how much time you put in and its at your pace study. it cost about 3000 pounds. If you have just completed a University Course and have a relevant 1st or 2nd BSc. you would be better getting a job in this field with a 'big' company (that way, chances are, the company will pay for your further training) If you do not have a good relevant degree, and no experience in this field, then 'yes' it may be worth doing privately .. However it's a difficult job market = everyone wants people with experience .. large companies that have Graduate Training Schemes take their pick of the top grads .. the rest end up working for small companies for peanuts (but after 3 - 5 years experience they can then get a much better position elsewhere)
