Is it easy to get a job as a truck driver with CDL-A?

It depends on your driving record mainly if you are experienced as a trucker. Entry level jobs are easy...there are a lot of training companies if you are just out of school. Many companies are still hiring drivers even with high fuel and slow economy. You do not say if you are experienced or not, but here are some websites to put an online application up at no matter what your experience is: www.layover.com www.fleetdirectory.com www.bubbajunk.com www.truckflix.com To get a job as a driver, one will have to pass a drug/alcohol test, take a road test, pass a physical exam and go through orientation. If you are inexperienced, you will go out with a trainer for a set amount of time until they feel that you are ok to go by yourself...most trainer time is 2-6 weeks depending on the company. Realistically, your first year you can figure on $25-35k then that will go up as you gain experience. Good Luck!

An A-class CDL is not advanced enough to get most CDL road routes. You will likely be a car hauler or a POD hauler for a class A CDL. Get a more advanced CDL if you want the better jobs, my friend. ANY CDL will get you a lot of offers, but most do not pay over $10/hour. Simple fact, in MOST states.

Yeah, definitely. As long as you have a clean driving record and no drug or alcohol convictions, you'd probably expect to start out at about $55K/year for over the road or $35K/year for in town driving.
