Depends totally on who you actually work for and where you live. In my area, there are federal officers, state officers, county officers and juvenile officers. They all have different pay rates. You may be able to do a search by state-just type in corrections department with the name of the state(s) and see if you can get any info. That may also lead you to what the county/municipal and juvenile officers earn. For federal jobs, you can type in "federal or USA corrections" and that should give you some info. for each state, too. All of them involve a totally different interview process/requirements, etc.
