You need a great smile, a nice laugh, and a LOT of energy. You will be on your feet anywhere from 4 to 11 hours without a break and without sitting down. Make sure you're physically able. You need a good short term memory, good people skills, and you need to make sure you're a team player because everyone needs help sometimes with walking food or running refills. A great personality and great control of anger...those are two very important things.

You probably have them as of now. A great personality, a good memory (remember your customers treat them well and you will get great tips, an ability to get along with others is very important. Do not tell or carry stories good or bad. If somebody tells U something about others smile and ignore them. You will know you are doing right when customer return and ask for you. I have several friends (six) who all started as waiters in fine food cafes and now own their own business's. God Bless
