What are the Pay Rates for Certified Nurse Aides in Kentucky/other states in various settings??
Asked by MrsMarshall=)
About how much do they get paid? I am in the RN program but the local hospital gives scholarships to CNA's who are going to school full time to be a RN. I was just curious as to what they get paid. Anyone on here a CNA ?? How much do you get paid?? Please specify what type of place you work in if you don't mind (hospital, nursing home, hospice, etc) And what state you're from.. Thanks so much in advance!

At UK Hospital they make $10.07-$14.83. UK also has educational benefits, they'll pay a portion of your tuition at a state school based on how many hours you work (full time pays for 6 credit hours a semester). The hospital's department of nurse recruitment has offered work scholarships in the past, but I don't know if they are doing this right now. You could call and check. You do not have to be a current UK employee, just be willing to come and work there afterwords. I did the work scholarship to get my ADN and the education benefit to go back for my BSN.

CNA, Wisconsin, 20 yrs. I work in a retirement home for retired Sisters (nuns). I make $12. per hr. with benefits. I make less than most CNA's in my area, but the workplace is much nicer than most. We are an Assisted Living Facility for the Sisters. I work the PM shift. We open beds, take them to supper, make trays when necessary, give bathes, get them ready for bed, and lots of one on one. It's a GREAT place to work. In the wintertime, if the roads are bad, we can stay overnight for free in guest rooms. This is a convent. It's a real different setting than most facilities. I used to work in a nursing home in an alzheimers unit. I made $8.10 per hr. I like this setting much better. I've also worked as a HHA with a local hospital, but the driving around here is just crazy. I live in rural america. I live 22 miles from my employer.
