where can i look to get an electrical engineering job in New York. im looking to move from Scotland?

I am currently studying Electrical Engineering. My girl friend already has her degree and a possible job. but im finding it hard to find some where because i have to experience yet. i was in new york for the first time last summer on holiday and it was amazing, and im heading back again the september for a week. any help or ideas in where i could look would be great.

You do know that you have to APPLY for permission to get a work permit, from the US Government, first, right ? That will take from one to two years, IF you are approved, and that is NOT a gurantee, for sure. So you need to be accepted FIRST, by Immigration, THEN you can go to the USA and try to find a job. Bear in mind that your degree is not going to be automatically accepted in the USA, you will need to sit a series of "qualification tests " set by the US Professional Engineers Society. You will pay to do that. A recent graduate, like your self, will be fighting with thousands of others in the American job market, many of whom have superior experience . Why not try the UK market, first ? Jim B. Toronto.
