Newspaper sales rep?

I have found a job listing for one of the 2 largest newspapers in my state (nc). the job itself is for an inside/outside sales representative. I have a vague idea of what this means....but only that. mw works, powerpoint and excel are necessary skills. and a 4 year degree, which I do have. but anyone know exactly what this job entails? and what about the salary? details, please
