What degree do you need to become a paralegal?
Asked by Celia
I am currently at a communitity college and my major right now is psychology but I have realized I do not want that field and am considering becoming a paralegal and then working my way up to becoming some type of lawyer. I was wondering what would be best to gain an associates in; business law or criminal justice?

Paralegal studies would be the best major to get your degree in so you can be a paralegal. For your bachelor's degree, it can either be paralegal studies or a field in which you can work if you decide not to pursue law school. Accounting, computer programming, finance are good.

Any major is fine. But you will need a bachelor's degree to go to law school. BTW-I am a lawyer and my advice on becoming a lawyer is-DON'T!!!

A:
Ideally, you should major in Paralegal Studies. However, if that is not offered by your school than I suggest either business management, english, or political science.
