How many days a week dental hygienists work?

I was just wondering how many days out of the week dental hygenienists worked and how many hours a day?

I looked into being a dental hygienist, and what I was told was that you pretty much work as many or as few days as you want, and are not limited to working fir just one dentist. The average pay was in the neighborhood of 50k per year and up, and the hourse were very flexible.

It's probably negotiable with the individual dentist. You could work full time, 8 hours a day, 5 days a week. However, some offices "rent" chair to hygienists. Basically you pay rent each month, but set your hours and get most of the amount charged to the clients. The best part is you have a captive audience supplied by the dentist's clients.

It varies, you can work as much or as little as you like as long as there is a dentist willing to work with you (and there usually is!) I graduated in 2000, worked full time for 3 years then after I got married went to part time. I currently work 2 days a week Wed 7-5, Thurs 7:30-3.
