I'm 38 years old, and I want to be a teacher of preschool or daycare, but is it gonna be hard for me?

I'm 38 years old as I mentined, and I'm thinking about attending community college and studying eary childhood education.
Eventually I'd like to be a teacher of daycare or preschool.
But is it hard to be a teacher considering my age??

I went to a Teachers College designed for late starters.. mostly mums, whose children had "left the nest" It took students for both preschool and grade school teachers.
the average age of the students was around 35. They had catch up classes for those who needed to brush up on their general literacy, numeracy, science skills, and plenty of tutorials for those who needed a bit of extra help to get into the swing of studying again.
By the time we graduated, the average age was more like 45, because the younger students had go bored and dropped out, where as the older students stayed on and were more successful overall.
Now they're all out and working and every one of the loves it!
Go for it! If you want it bad enpough, it will be easy :)

Many people go into teaching as a second career, after they retire from the first. If you are passionate about teaching, go for it. The students aren't going to be concerned about your age, they are going to be concerned if you have something to teach them. The parents, might also appreciate their child having a mature teacher. Go volunteer at some schools and see if you like it first, then if you do, Go for it!
