i applied for a part-time at Courtyard Marriott. What is the typical hourly rate and how much of a discount do they give to employees for staying at Marriott hotels?

Depends on the location. For the most part, it's just above miminum wage. Maybe a couple of dollars more if your in a high traffic area or a high cost of living area (NYC or Cali). As for discounts, most hotels will only charge you what it cost them to maintain the room. $30-40/night for a midrange chain like Courtyard.
