[Executive Assistant Job description] what does the "drafting correspondence" mean?
Asked by lime
I'm in a middle of job hunting, and I have a couple of questions for terms. The Job is executive assistant. If you could explain what exactly I would do, that'd be great.
1: proofing and distributing confidential reports
2: Screening phone calls
3: Drafting Correspondence
4: Distributing Correspondence
5: Lunch runs
(Has anyone done this? Buying lunch for others!? Is that what they mean?)
THANK YOU,

Correspondence would be sending emails, letters, logging phone calls...... Anthing that would be contacting someone. Yes, lunch run would be getting lunch for everyone. Just take down orders. It is easier to have them email what they want. Call the order in and use a company check or collect money. It's not a bigy. Screening phone calls means that you will answer the phone and find out who is calling. Put them on hold and tell the person they called for who they are. If they want the call transfer it to them. If they are not there then ask if they want the voicemail or take a detailed message.
Do not listen to the girl above. Noone would know anything if they did not ask or learn. You could have a degree and still find a job that has something that you don't know along the line. :)

Sorry, but if you do not know what these job duties are, then you probably should not be looking at a job with qualifications you don't understand. Something might come up in your job and it will make you look incompetent if you can't do it.
