Are those work from home medical billing classes legitimate?

I was thinking about signing up for one of those medical transcription or billing classes but they cost $1000. Are they just a scam or can you really get a job from home? I'm pregnant and this would be so cool after the baby comes. Any advice or info would be appreciated. Thank you.
