Certified nursing assistant and nursing tech? What's the Difference?

What's the difference between the 2, and perhaps the best choice, in terms of job prospects, pay, quality of life (if the work is easier than the other occupation), etc.?? I'm currently a certified nursing assistant & wonder if it's worth it to add on a nursing tech certificate. I prefer to work in a hospital. Are nursing techs more likely to get hired at a hosptial than CNA's? I'd work while taking nursing classes.

Nursing Tech's or Patient Care Tech's have more skills and the course is longer. It took me 8 months versus 1 month for the CNA course. You are basically a multi skilled worker doing phlebotomy and EKG's along with your normal patient care. Yes, you are more likely to get hired at a hospital because you already possess the skills they are looking for, but this isn't to say that some hospitals won't provide CNA's with on the job training to work as a tech. I know of a few CNA's that trained for such positions. Good luck

there is not a big difference...every time I see a job opening for a nursr tech it says :nurse tech/CNA...basically the same
