How much education does it take to become an accountant?

And are there "advanced accountants"? Like highly trained ones that get paid more? If so, how much education is needed to become one of those?

If you want to be an accountant you will need a 4 year bachelor's degree. You'll need some additional courses and take a state exam to become a CPA which will pay more. Also and MBA or Masters Degree is desirable. That will depend on how quickly you progress in those classes. Also, many grad schools want you to have at least a 3.5 GPA in undergrad work.

Yes, you can get your bachelors degree in Accounting and also become a licensed accountant. Licensed accountants earn more money. A bachelors degree takes 4 years.
