How much does a restaurant hostess make per hour?

I am thinking about either being a hostess or waitress on the side.I work as a nurse aide.If I don't get this better job I want a second job.How much does a restaurant hostess make per hour?

Hostesses make around minimum wage. They get a small slice of the server tips, but it's nothing great. You'll probably average around 9/hr when you add in the tips.

like 2 or 3 dollars an hour plus tips. you make way too much money in tips to get paid 8 dollars an hour.

i was a hostess and that was 7 yrs ago i made 8.00 an hr.

I currently make 7.25. My coworkers make between 7.50 and 7.75 depending on seniority.
We don't get portions of tips, aside from any carryout tips.
