typical technology and software needed in a general practitioners medical office?

Two to Three general kinds: a front office package that registers and allows input of insurance, contact info, scheduling, call back, etc and billing/coding if not in the back office system (such as "Medisoft"). And then an EMR (electronic medical record) for back charting that allows retrieval of previous records, plan, diagnosis, and codes procedures & diagnoses. For this I personally like "Codonix"; but there are a lot. Some may need a separate billing & coding; or it may be part of the first 2.
