Can I go from full time to part time because of school?
Asked by bbshadowcat
I am applying for jobs for the summer however I don't know if I should choose full time or part time since I have school starting soon. Am I allowed to apply for full time for the summer then switch to part time when school starts? Will I get fired for lying if I say I am applying for full time?

I just recently got a new job and applied for full time availability. I also go to school full time so my advice to you would be just tell them that you will have to be part-time in September due to school. Theyw ill definetly understand as long as you give them notice!!!!! Good Luck!!!!

Just apply for a part time job and let them you can work more hours until school starts. If an employer is hiring for a full time position they won't want to hire someone who will eventually need part time hours. It's best to upfront and honest about your availabiltiy.

Just tell them you're starting school and can't handle school and a full time job and need to change your availability. They shouldn't have any problem with it as long as you let them know. You won't get fired because of your availability changing.
