Do you have any contact in retail you can ask? Otherwise, the answer would be "it depends"
If you were a retail representative you are evaluated by how much you sell, how well you work with others and how happ you make the customer. If you were great at it you may get promoted to location or store manager. You'd have to supervise the reps, train them, schedule them, manage their hours/timecards, manage inventory and product display, be responsible for the money and policy exceptions. Part of your pay would be dependant on how well your store does. If the folks at the corporate office think you do a great job they may put you in charge of other managers and other locatons. This is your district retail sales manager. Your job is to make sure the businesses are profitable and the location managers are on top of their game. Most of your pay would be determined by how well the locations you are managing are performing. You'd have to travel around to visit these locations to monitor and improve their performance. You could work you way up over the years to this level but without some sort of college or university you'd have less of a chance.
