What classes should I take in high school to become a sales or marketing manager?
Asked by Manutd
I'm about to start my sophmore year and I want to know what classes I should be taking to become a sales/marketing manager. Though I'm still on the process of figuring what I want to do with my life, I'm starting to lean towards something to do with sales/marketing management.

Ideally, you'll need to go to college and take the appropriate classes there. In high school, you need to focus on your college prep classes. But if there are some business-related classes you can take, I'm sure it would only help. Marketing requires some creativity, so don't forget to take an art class or two. Concentrate on your English and writing classes, and you'll do great. Good luck!

high school doesn't matter, you have a core cirriculum so you have to have a certain amount of each category. As for COLLEGE, I would take basic speech classes, maybe some business ethics and even a couple of psychology classes.<<Psych is good for marketing. When you figure out exactly what you wanna do, i would go to a college counsler to talk about your class schedule.

I agree that high school doesn't matter so much as it is a very basic foundation for learning...if your school has any business courses, however, you may look into any of those that sound interesting. You would want to go to college, and that is primarily where you take Marketing and Sales Management courses that let you have the managing career you're looking for. Anything that you feel will help you in the long run, I would try to take.
