A:
It really depends where you live. $50,000 is a lot different in a small town than in a big city. It also depends on how many people that money is supposed to support.
Answered by Jon

A:
Well, that depends on your standards of living. For me alone I can live comfortably for about $45,000 a year

A:
Too general. Where do you want to live? If you are talking the United States then about 120,000 a year. That is for a comfortable living with low stress but it also depends on what level of life style you want to live. That is, by far, way above the average.

I would say $35,000 is a good salary. If you are alone. More as a combined income for a household. Hope this helps.

Depends on the cost of living, ideally you can be safe anywhere with $60-100,000 a year, and not live from check to check, beyond your means, and on credit.

depends where you live. The average salary in America is $26,000. This is not easy to live on. For me living comfortably would be around $65-$75 K

This is not a very straight forward question. There are plenty of things you have to put in consideration. How many children do you plan on having? What part of the country do you live in? These are just a couple of important questions. If you plan on having 4 kids then you need to make more money. You can live comfortably off of a million dollars lol. There is always bills, unless you're a millionaire.

No kids = $45,000 plus benefits 2-3 Kids and non-working wife = $60,000 plus benefits (Assuming mortgage for $150,000 - $200,000 house, car payments, insurance, repairs, etc.)
Answered by David B

A:
That depends on where you live. if you make $50K in most large cities you will be earning enough to leave decently. The same about in a small town would have you living a lot better.

It depends on your bills and expenses. About 5 years i was living off about 10000 a year with 3 kids and a wife. but i had no bills except rent, food and gas (car). Now i make 80000 and i have bill out the ying yang. Mortgage. two car notes, insurance, ect. I would rather has the low income and no bills cause now i have no expendable cash at all.

It depends on a lot of things like where you live. You have to make a lot more money to live comfortabley in New York City than in Dallas Tx. Also, you cant just look at the money part. Does your employer offer health insurance? If you dont have health insurance and are sick or in an accident and dont have health insurance, it can ruin you financially. Then you have to consider retirement benefits. There are very few companies that offer them so what will live on when you retire? Or do you plan to work into your 70s or 80s or longer?
