I'm worried about balancing Nursing School, a part time job, and my social/family life.... Help?!?
Asked by MissUnderstood
I recently found out I got accepted into Nursing School. I am excited because they only let in 88 people per summer and fall terms(176 per yr).Now i'm very nervous and worried about doing well and handling the stresses of nursing school, a parttime workstudy job, and finding time to spend with my loved ones. I want to be a good nursing student but not let studying consume my life to the point where I isolate myself from usual activities like working out at the gym or going out with family and my fiance whom I love very much. Fortunately,my fiance and I are moving into an apartment to finish out our last 2 years of school, however, we'll also both be working part time and going to school full time. Also,my family lives an hour away and want me to see them every weekend.I know I'm fortunate to get this opportunity many didn't get.So how should I go about finding time to study and be a good nursing student, handle a part time job, and find the necessary &needed time I need with loved ones??

CONGRATS!! ok im an EMT. i have 2 part time jobs as well as work for the fire dpt and go to school (going for medic right now) and i still have time for the gym every day and friends and family. it gets hard at times but it can be done. the hardest part is i tend to lose sleep at times, be VERY selfish about your sleep! also take time out here and there that is just for you. i know it sounds weird with school work and your social life, but i've found that if i take time for myself here and there it helps me in every other aspect. you're going to work very hard but it's worth it! i wish you the best of luck

That is great that you got accepted into Nursing School! It won't be an easy task to do, but with suppport from your family and your fiance you can do it. It will take a lot of study time and probably clinicals too. If you don't get in all of the excercise time that you are used to getting then it will be OK. Just let it go for now. It will all be worth it in the long run.
It can be done. I juggled work and school with a husband and 2 children for two years. Good luck with it!
