Why does UPS still accept applications from new applicants when they have apps from other people?
Asked by Robin S
I applied at UPS almost two months ago and they didn't hire me, or even tell me that they didn't hire me. But they keep posting open job positions for package handler, the same position I applied for, at the exact same hub I applied at. So if new places keep opening up, why don't they hire the people they've already interviewed and who's already applied instead of accepting more applications?

they did not hire you for a reason.................... just because there is an opening and you apply does not mean they will hire you. you can and should apply again, many employers only keep applications active for 30 days then they file them away. most employers keep applications for 12 months for tracking purposes but they only look at the active file for applicants to interview and/or hire. brush up your resume', references and interview skills and try again, second or third time could be the charm...................

Sometimes they only keep applications for an X amount of days, or they could just be lazy on updating the website about having a position open. Do you have a contact there that you can call and ask the status of your application? If so, you could call and see if your application is still valid, and if it isn't you could always put another one in. When I was in college, the hospital I worked at kept a position on the website (that I was applying for, and eventually was hired for) even when they were fully staffed. They lost people at the end of the semester usually so they were always "looking" but not always hiring. I kept up on my application every few months (I think mine expired every 90 days) and eventually I was brought in for an interview when they had a spot open for me even though it was about 7 months later.
