I am a Human resource professional. Job responsiibilties of HR professional mainly includes, Recruitments, Selection, Training and developments, compensastion and benifites (including payrolling, leave management), Employee satifaction surveys, event management, policy making and keeping a track that people stick to these policies. And last but not the list giving pink slips(firing people) if anyone does not follow to any of the policies or violates any law which are in the company interest. Let me know if you need any other details.

Mostly human resource people say "no" to a lot of qualified candidates for a job out of fear that a manager will realize they have no real purpose.
