To tell you my story, I have been in working as a freelance webdesigner for a while, and it has usually helped me a lot to have a partnership with some web registration and web hosting company. So I started this company called EasyWebsitesToday.com and have found it very useful.
What is surprising is that this itself has been so successful, as there are so many more web designers such as myself or yourself, who have started to use the products and services of this company.

As a freelancer if you want to earn more then you gotta finish more projects. So improve your speed and efficiency. Also be selective in the projects that you take up. Beware of crazy customers that give trouble and suck you dry. They will drain your resources. Focus on nice customers who can afford your services. Build up your customer base and reputation by doing good, quality work.
