Project Manager/Technical Operations Manager position Query

i want to know in a software organization what is the role of Technical Operations Manager & how is it different than operations manager. Can Tech. manager operation assume role of project manager i mean can he have both title of Tech operations manager & project manager at once officially

mutliple titles are very common. so i don't see why not.

Not an answer, but another question related to this one. How can one obtain an entry-level position in this field? College grad, '99, but have worked as an Admin/Executive assistant for years in NYC.Now moved to ATL and wanting to transition to my original love...IT. I like the area of Project Management.
