I have a HVAC certificate from the US does it qualify me for a job in the UK?

I have a trade school HVAC/electrical and gas certificate from the US. Will my qalification enable me to get a job in the UK... I am a UK citizen.. I dont want to do a city and guilds I just spent 2 years and $20,000 on this course which is the best HVAC school in the states.

In the UK they are really picky about having the right qualifications for gas professionals - you will need to get CORGI registered to be able to work on anything related to gas and this is not negotiable. However you may find that you can still find work in electricals with this qualification. Why did you bother spending $20,000 on a qualification without first checking if it would be recognised in your own home country?

no because standards are not the same, UK standards are higher.

contact a local college near to where you'll live in the uk and enquire about doing an nvq or city and guilds course for your current trade...many employers look for experience over quals and may employ you as you are doing your uk equivalent training
