automotive career and advice on automotive education?
Asked by dude
I am thinking about going to school to be an auto mechanic. I am 26 years old and need to start making money. What can I expect to earn while attending college and after graduation? How long does school usually take to complete at a community college? Is it pretty easy to find a job? Should I focus on certificates? Any advice on the classes I should take would help as well. I live in the chicago suburbs and it seems like there are a lot of jobs.

definitely focus on certificates. it's a hard thing to learn, and even after-wards it takes a lot of physical work. think you can take apart an engine and put it back together again? classes to get your diploma will be set by your school.. there are certain things that you have to have before you can get a diploma. for women, i would think twice about it. how many women mechanics do you personally know of. good luck to ya.
