Is there a lot of traveling involved for someone looking to get into Environmental Resource Management?

I am trying to decide what to do with my life. I want to be around my existing family and eventually start a new family. I am very interested in earth sciences and etc. but I don't want to not have a family life due to my selected career. Can I plan on having to travel a lot with getting into a career like Environmental Resource Management?

depends a lot if you are working in the field but if you are assigned to the home office you will have little if any travel!!!
