How is work at a designer retail store like Coach, Kenneth Cole, etc?

I want to apply at the Outlet Mall for a retail position (assistant manager or sales associate) for some kind of designer store. Is it hard to get a job there?

You really need to dress the part at these locations, so be prepared for that. These shops really require folks that can "sell" not just stock shelves and run register. The discounts are usually verrrrry generous, but know that you will need to be very comfortable speaking to customers and trying to sell and "upsell'.
