I just got a part-time(weekend) job at a national park. I had a physical but no drug test. I'm wondering if I?
Asked by BingoBanggoBongo
should expect a drug test in the future. I occasionally smoke cannabis, would like to know if anyone has worked this sort of job and was subject to drug testing.

Some companies do random drug testing. More than likely, they randomly pull SS#'s on new hires to determine if you should drug screen at hire. Check your employee handbook or policy book on drug tests. You could also call HR....anonymously, of course!! :)

You won't like this.... But I would lay of the weed, if I really wanted to keep my job. It may not show up in a urine test after a period of time, but it stays in your hair follicles for MONTHS. Unfortunately, drug testing is becoming the way of the future for many companies, due to insurance reasons among others. This rule is not only to protect the companies, but their employees and their clients. My company's insurance company, will not even provide us coverage unless every employee is tested at hire, plus random periodic tests throughout their employment with the company. ( some of my staff drive company vehicles) It is written in their contract/employee manual as a condition of hire/ employment. Sorry Dude...
