Anyone know of a good way to get a welding job in connecticut i would like to be an ironworker but have had?

no luck with such. I have exp welding (mig/tig/stick) but do not hold certifications. Any ideas I have tried to find the union websites but nothing has come up.

I know there are many manufacturing plants in the southern part of the state, for example Electric Boat in Groton.

A union Might only offer an apprenticeship unless they are hurting bad for welders. It might take a while to go through the application process and you might have to compete against someones nephew for the apprenticeship. If you dont have any certs, I would advise calling Hobart Institute of Welding and checking into taking a test. You will much more hirable with certs in hand even though you will probably be required to test again to get most jobs. But we are talking about getting your foot in the door. You cant get hired if you never get in the door.

Another option is go to AWS.org to locate accredited test facilities for one closer to you....good luck
