Colleges are best since the meals are scheduled and they give good pay and benefits. Hotels next then restaurants.
I've been cooking for 20 years and if I was in a college I could of retired by now.

It depends on what your goals and desires are in relation to cooking. Hotels tend to have a set menu and be more about cooking on a larger scale with less of a focus on creativity and variety (not all of course). If you have an interest toward a particular type of cuisine then it would be best to work in a restaurant with a focus on that area. Cooking is great because you can always learn more. Whether you work in a hotel or restaurant setting, being in a kitchen is by nature hard work and usually pretty long hours. Again, evaluating your goals and needs will help you to decide what type of a kitchen is best for you. Good luck!
