How can I venture out of the Graphic Design field?
Asked by mathwhiz454
I graduated with a Graphic Design degree recently from a 4 year college--close to graduation, I realized I didn't even like my major (surprise! you don't know what you want from life when you're 18 and pick a major!). Anyway, I am looking to venture outside of the Graphics Industry, and I am wondering if anyone has advice about what other industries and job categories may be good for me. I'm still on the job hunt unfortunately, as I'm a recent May '08 grad, and all advice on transferable skills is appreciated. thanks alot!

I know someone who have BA degree in product design and became a photo retoucher later in his life. Since he went to private institution, he had to pay his debt for 9 years after graduating from the college. How is this sound to you? Can you analyze why you don't like graphic design and what do you find interests in the same or similar fields? All design are connected somehow-- you may be good at studying fashion design. If I were you, I will at least try to get a job and have a working experience. Tyhen, decide if you really dont like the job, you can go back to college and study some other areas.

Go to an employment agency and explain it to them. Or look for other opportunities in your company.
