Considering a new career School Bus Driver or Personal Care Worker?

School Bus Driver is 8-9 and 2-5 @$85/day No Pay for on the job training. PCW is about $15-15/day with average hrs of 12/day The company is giving me a bursary towards payment of education of the PCW. Pay for on the job training. I have two little kids to support. Help?? Need advice Would have to pay for after school care as well unless the bus lets me take the kids with me on my afternoon route. Correction: PCW is $15-18/day

have you thought about working n a daycare center? normally you can take your kids with you either free or at a discounted rate. you need to remember that school bus driver is only during the school year so there may not be summer work, christmas or spring break work or days off from school. and you need to have a cdl. plus it's a huge liability driving other people's kids around.

If you really figure the wages it isn't a whole lot different. I mean you would make more as a PCW but you would be working a lot more too. The difference in pay really isn't that much. PCW is hard work compared to driving a bus 4 hrs a day. You would see your kids a lot more if you did the bus route too. Maybe you could pick up extra if you drove for field trips too.
