How do you get started in a automotive sales career?

I am interested in starting a career in car sales as I have a few friends who are extremely happy in that field. At this point, I am just interested in gathering info to see if its right for me. One of my friends said she had to take a training course to do the job? Anyone know where I can go in Ontario to take this course? Possible online? Any info would be greatly appreciated!!!

word of advice, not because your friends are happy doing that means you will be too. second, you must really like cars to do good in this line of work. for example, let's say you are working for a ford dealership and the new mustang is out, you have to know every specific detail about that car so that you have a lot of confidence in what you are selling, me personally, i own a dealership, but when i buy a car, i say, if i like the way this car is , im pretty sure someone out there has to have this car. and it's true, most of the time. about where you could go, i have no clue, but whatever you choose, good luck. thanks
