Hi
I'm a graphic Designer!!
This is funny. It depends on your talent. If your folio is impressive then jobs are easy to get. This inustry has different types of studios and different levels.
You'll start out as a junior designer were if your lucky youl be punching in numbers onto peoples business cards. There are however some designers who give you more challenging work.
I live in Melbourne Australia, and I finished three years of school. It took me about 5 interviews of people telling me how great my work was. I accepted a job offer in a studio from pure desperation of not having anything to do after three years of intense school.
This place turne out to be some crappy little studio were i had to work on a PC! (designers should only work on macs no matter what anyone tells you) There were no windows and I ahd to sit at this desk all day with four other people designing crappy packaging.
Packaging wasn't my thing and after two days I decided I didn't want the job. I didnt even go in to tell them I quit I texted them with my cell phone.
The point of me telling you that story is that no matter how desperate you are in this industry you really have to be happy were you are.
Also to actualy answer your question, no. Having the been educated to become a Graphic Designer is not going to get you a job alone. With this industry many places don't care what your education is. They really only look at two things.
1. Your folio - It has to be great to get into a good studio. Your folio has to be fantastic if you want to get into an even better studio. Going to school will give you skills, which can help you a little with your folio, but mostly talent will play a big part.
I went to school with alot of people who just didnt have it. Only about 10 out of 40 students actualy got a job.
2. Your personality will play a big part in getting a job. This is something you should show most in your interview. Just be your self. If your truly passionate about Graphic Design this will show in your interview.
Oh and by the way I ended up getting an even better job two interviews later.
Great studio worthy of my folio. I get really good briefs and have had my work shown in the paper.

there is high demand over graphic designers and web developers in emerging markets, and really really low supply... do your best, and go out of the box, and manage to get into an online graphic designing business and do your job via phone and emails...
