Best Answer:
Assistant manager - Is exactly what it says. They assist the manager and take over when the manager isn't there. They usually get more of the brunt work than the manager. Assistant Manager trainee- Its bascially an assistant to the assistant. They are there to help the Assistant manger as well as gain experience in the managerial position. Sometimes they are paid sometimes they aren't. Sales Associate - Better known as cashier. They are the people you see in retail stores that help customers as well as ring up their items. Special Event Coordinator - Say for example JCPenney has a big sale coming up. They need all types of signs displayed, ballons, tables, etc. This is where the Special Event Coordinator comes into play. He/she coordinates the scenery for the special events that take place. They organize where signs will be placed, door prizes, and things of that nature. Visual Merchandiser - They usually set up displays with mannequins. They are often the ones you see setting up window displays. They somewhat set the trend. They also have a keen sense of fashion. Area Supervisor - I'm not very sure but I think by area it means district. That person supervises all the stores of thier company in a certain district or city Buyer - Not very sure about this one but I think they buy the things needed for the store. They have to use trends and data to figure out what exactly to buy though. They have to have things to back up why they are buying a certain item. Is it popular? Is it becoming popular? Is it over rated? Department manager - Leads one specific department. Such as Juniors, Women's, Men, Cookware, etc. They have special expertise in one certain area. The rest are pretty self explanatory and you can refer to my other answers above. A Merchandising manager, Visual director, and showroom coordinator are the same as Visual merchandiser they all do the same.
