Anyone working in a restaurant as a server/waitress notice smaller tips in todays economy?

Just wondering if people are tipping the same as business is slower than usual.

the tips my drivers are making have went down dramatically. business has been the slowest ever the past month. and people are ordering small amounts and less often that they were 4 months ago. the loyal customers are tipping and ordering the same but the here and there ones are skimping.

I don't work in the restaurant business; but it wounldn't surprise me. I work in retail; and managment is cutting hours of their employees work-schedules. I'm sure some resturants are doing the same.
