i havent worked now for 2 months and i was offered a job at a hotel for 9.50 an hour as a housekeeper but the thing is that all of the people there that work this job are women and something else is when i was shown the rooms on the tag that you put on the outside of the hotel room it shows a women with a feather duster in her hand it kind of made me feel uncomfortable i mean the people might think a woman is coming to clean a room and then when they would see a guy wouldnt they make fun of me and laugh

There are guys who do housekeeping at a hotel near where I live. It's at a ski resort, so they get employee discounts for ski lift tickets, so look at the possible benefits of doing that job (including tips sometimes). There are more women than men doing that job, but don't feel funny about it, especially if you end up being good at it. Plus, these days it's good to have a job at all, huh? Oh yeah, I was just on a cruise ship last month and almost all of the housekeepers were guys!

Yep. Men can clean as well as women, and sometimes better! In Chicago, I had a male housekeeper servicing a place I stayed at for a week and he was the best I ever had take care of me. I loved him, wish there were more like him. I left him a huge tip, in a place where I am not sure he gets tipped often.
